Bhubaneswar: Dharamsala police arrested five members of a family in connection with the murder of a six-year-old boy whose body was found in an abandoned stone quarry near the Char Gotha village under Jenapur police station in Jajpur district two days back.
The arrests were made after police investigation revealed that Bauri Rout had killed his son with the help of four of his family to pave the way for a second marriage.
Dharamshala police arrested five persons, including Bauri, his parents, his brother and his sister-in-law. They were later produced in court.
According to reports, Bauri was unhappy with his wife’s mental condition and had been planning to remarry. The villagers claim that Bauri’s intention was to eliminate his wife and son to pave the way for a second marriage.
The deceased’s father Bauri, came under suspicion after villagers alleged that he planned and executed the murder.
