Bhubaneswar: A 21-year-old youth was injured in a gunshot incident in Banthupada, Rajgangpur town of Sundargarh district.
Mohammad Samser, a resident of Idaga Mahalla, sustained injuries to his hand after a gun went off while he and his friends were handling firearms under the influence of alcohol.
According to reports, two rounds were fired, and Samser was immediately shifted to Rourkela for treatment. The incident is currently under investigation, and police are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the youths’ possession and handling of firearms.
Reports said they were engaged in merry-making with guns in an inebriated condition.
The police will probe whether the incident was an accident or if there were any ulterior motives.
