Bhubaneswar: The widow of Prashant Satpathy, one of the victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir, has welcomed India’s Operation Sindoor, a targeted military operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Priyadarshini Acharya expressed her sentiments, stating that “They took our loved ones on a Tuesday. We hit back on a Tuesday. You killed us by asking about our religion, we attacked you by saying our religion.”

She added, “My husband is gone. He won’t come back. I hope our actions will prevent similar incidents. Terrorism has no place in the world.”

Acharya expressed happiness over the government’s action, saying, “I wondered when the government would act against the terrorists, but I was sure the government would do the right thing. I am very happy today.”

It is pertinent to mention that Prashant, his wife Priyadarshini and their nine-year-old son, who are from Balasore, were alighting from a ropeway in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir when unidentified terrorists opened fire. Prashant sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Notably, Operation Sindoor was a precise military operation conducted by India against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, predominantly civilians. During Operation Sindoor, Indian Forces executed targeted strikes on nine terrorist camps, including those operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, to dismantle key terrorist leadership and infrastructure.
