Bhubaneswar: The Housing and Urban Development Department, along with other departments, is gearing up to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for pilgrims attending the world-famous Rath Yatra. A meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Usha Padhee was held at the Circuit House Conference Room to discuss arrangements for the festival.
Padhee emphasized that the Rath Yatra is a collective responsibility and a symbol of coordination among all departments. She directed departmental officers to manage road repairs, cleaning, sanitation, drinking water provision, transportation, and parking lot arrangements in an orderly manner before the Rath Yatra.
Padhee also stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure to provide facilities to devotees and tourists throughout the year. Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur assured that the Transport Department would provide all possible cooperation to passengers during the Rath Yatra and suggested identifying more parking spaces for convenience.
District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain briefed about the preparations for the Rath Yatra, and various district-level officers participated in the discussion.
The departments have been directed to take financial action against those violating cleanliness, traffic, and parking rules. The meeting aimed to ensure a successful and hassle-free Rath Yatra for the pilgrims.
