Jeypore: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his mother by striking her with a wooden plank in Sanpariya village, under the jurisdiction of Borigumma police station in Koraput district, on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Neela Gouda, aged 55. The accused, Rupadhar Gouda, has been arrested by the Borigumma police, who have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to reports, two others—a woman and a man—sustained injuries while attempting to intervene and save Neela Gouda.
The police are probing the circumstances leading to the tragic event to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
