Bhubaneswar: In a special ceremony held on Monday, at the New Abhishek Hall of Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati felicitated the top-performing students of the 2025 High School Certificate examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE).
Addressing the gathering, the Governor called upon the matric toppers not only to excel in academics but also to strive for excellence as responsible citizens in the future.
Congratulating the students, Governor Kambhampati extended his best wishes for their bright future and acknowledged the unwavering support, sacrifices, and affection of their parents, as well as the guidance and mentorship of their teachers, which enabled the students to reach the pinnacle of success. In his address, he lauded the toppers for demonstrating how discipline, commitment, and dedication lead to success. Describing them as “shining stars,” he noted that their achievements reflect not only personal excellence and resilience but also the relentless efforts of their parents and teachers.
The Governor emphasized that academic success should serve as a foundation for becoming ethical and influential members of society. He described their matriculation success as merely the first step in life’s journey, urging them to maintain humility, courage to explore, and a mindset to uplift others. Highlighting the National Education Policy 2020, he called the students fortunate, stating that it would empower them for holistic development and equip them to meet the challenges of the modern world.
The event was graced by Odisha’s First Lady, Jayshree Kambhampati, who also congratulated the toppers, their parents, and teachers. The Governor’s Principal Secretary, N.B.S. Rajput, delivered the welcome address, extending congratulations and good wishes to the students, parents, and teachers.
Notably, a total of 25 toppers from BSE, CBSE, and ICSE were honoured during the ceremony, marking their outstanding academic achievements.
