Bhubaneswar: A devotee’s sudden vomiting inside the Puri Srimandir during evening darshan caused a stir today. The incident occurred after the Madhyanha Dhupa ritual, while devotees were offering prayers near the Bhitar Katha.

Following the incident, a Maha Snana ritual was performed to purify the temple, and the servitors cleansed it with lime water.

The normal darshan was suspended for an hour, causing inconvenience to devotees. After the completion of the purification ritual, the darshan system resumed as normal.

This is not the first incident of its kind, as a similar Maha Snana ritual was held on the May 26 after blood was spotted in the temple, disrupting darshan for an hour.
