Puri: In preparation for the upcoming Snana Purnima and Ratha Yatra festivals, the Puri police held a crucial security review meeting under the chairmanship of Central IG S Praveen Kumar. The meeting focused on ensuring the safety and security of devotees, as well as maintaining orderly darshan and effective traffic management.
After the meeting, the Central IG said that a massive deployment of security personnel has been planned, with 70 platoon forces and 450 officers, including four SP-rank commandants, being deployed to maintain law and order. The police department has also made elaborate arrangements for the smooth darshan of devotees, including the installation of AI-enabled CCTV cameras at strategic locations and upgrading the control room.
The IG emphasized that the safety and security of Puri is the top priority, and all arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and peaceful festival. The police department has also been in touch with hotel owners and has received data on guests, with a special squad being formed to oversee security management at hotels.
With Snana Purnima scheduled for June 11, the police department is gearing up to handle the large influx of devotees expected to visit Puri.
