Bhubaneswar: In view of the upcoming world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Shri Jagannath in Puri, the Odisha government has constituted a high-level ministerial committee to oversee, guide, and monitor all arrangements related to the grand festival at the government level.
According to a notification issued by the Law Department, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will chair the committee. The panel includes several key cabinet ministers who will work in coordination to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the annual Car Festival, which draws millions of devotees and tourists from across the world.
Members of the committee include the Minister of Law, Works and Excise; the Minister of Health; the Minister of Housing and Urban Development (H&UD); and the Minister of Commerce and Transport. The Principal Secretary of the Law Department has been designated as the convenor of the committee.
The formation of this committee underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring meticulous planning and execution of one of the most significant religious and cultural events in Odisha.
With coordination across various departments, the committee is expected to streamline efforts and address all logistical, health, transport, and infrastructure-related needs for the smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra.
