Bhubaneswar: The Balasore Superintendent of Police (SP) has suspended five police personnel comprising one havildar and four constables, on charges of dereliction of duty.
The suspension follows an internal review that revealed the officers had failed to meet the expected standards in their roles.
According to reports, the suspended personnel were assigned to duty at the Balasore District Collector’s official residence, where they were responsible for maintaining law and order, ensuring premises security, and supporting administrative functions. They had reportedly neglected their duties to attend a colleague’s birthday celebration and were allegedly involved in some illicit activities.
Taking serious note of the lapses, the SP initiated disciplinary action, suspending the five personnel, to uphold accountability and discipline within the force.
