Crime Branch Begins Probe Into Gopalpur Gang Rape Case

Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch has initiated an investigation into the Gopalpur beach gang rape incident, treating the case as a Red Flag.
A team led by IG Shyni S visited the crime scene, collected preliminary evidence, and took charge of the investigation.
The Crime Against Women and Children Wing of Odisha Crime Branch is conducting the probe under the direct supervision of IG Shyni S. The accused persons, including four juveniles, have been arrested by the Berhampur police.
According to the police, the accused persons overpowered the victim and her boyfriend at the Gopalpur beach and gang-raped the victim. Minister of Commerce and Transport, Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, assured exemplary action against the culprits.
