Bhubaneswar: Following the instructions of Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Ashwathy S, three special joint expert teams comprising members from the Central and State Governments have been deployed to Cuttack, Jajpur, and Bhadrak districts to combat the diarrhoea outbreak.
The teams, consisting of experts from various fields, have started their work in the respective districts. In Jajpur, the team includes Dr. Nilakant Mishra, Director of Public Health, and Dr. N. Somalkar from the central team, along with officials from the Food Safety Authority of India.
In Cuttack, the team comprises Dr. B. Dwivedi and Dr. S. Mohanty from the central team, along with the Additional Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department Dr. Pramila Baral. Meanwhile, in Bhadrak, the team includes Dr. P. Ghosh, Dr. G. Choudhary, and Joint Director of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Subhasish Mohanty.
These teams are monitoring various aspects of the diarrhoea control and prevention program, including purification of drinking water sources, awareness programs on boiling water, treatment of patients as per protocol, and collection of accurate data on patients. Based on their findings, they will provide necessary advice to field-level teams and doctors.
After conducting field visits, the joint expert teams will discuss with the core committees formed in the respective districts to plan the next course of action.
