Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has made extensive preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra, scheduled for June 7. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the arrangements at a meeting held at Puri Town Hall, attended by Deputy Chief Ministers, ministers, MLAs, and senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, DGP, and Fire DG.
The government has tightened security arrangements for the Rath Yatra, with a 5-level security arrangement in place. Quick Response Teams and drone support will be deployed, and the Coast Guard will be stationed on the coastline to ensure a safe and smooth celebration, DGP Khurania said.
To provide medical support, 69 primary health centres have been set up, and 64 ambulances and 265 special beds have been arranged. Additionally, 378 doctors and paramedical staff will be deployed, including specialist doctors from AIIMS, the DGP added.
Around 10,000 security personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order during the Rath Yatra. The government has also reviewed sanitation, transportation, and crowd management arrangements to ensure a well-organized and disciplined celebration of the festival.
