Bhubaneswar: The Diarrhoea situation is under control in the state. The state government is taking the diarrhoea situation in Odisha seriously, and the number of new cases has decreased, informed Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
According to the Health Minister, the Chief Minister has reviewed the situation with four departments to ensure effective management. Stop diarrhoea awareness campaigns have been conducted to control the spread of diarrhoea in every district. Collectors have been instructed to monitor the situation. The situation is improving thanks to rigorous steps being implemented by the government.
Mahaling has also urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious to prevent further spread of the disease.
About measures to control diarrhoea during Rath Yatra, Mahaling stated that as many as 387 doctors and paramedical staff will be deployed, and 69 first-aid centres will be opened, particularly in Puri, to prevent the spread of diarrhoea during the Rath Yatra. Besides, 79 ambulances will be arranged to provide immediate medical assistance. A special review meeting was conducted by the Chief Minister to ensure that necessary measures are in place to manage the situation during the Rath Yatra in Puri. Steps will also be taken to provide safe drinking water to the people during the carnival.
