Bhubaneswar: The government is making grand plans for Puri. A mega plan is being prepared to ensure disciplined darshan and crowd control. Plans are underway to manage how 25 lakh devotees can visit Puri, have an orderly darshan, and return safely.
Following the gathering of lakhs of devotees during this year’s Rath Yatra, the state government is formulating a major plan for the coming years. Works and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan provided this information. This year, around 15 lakh devotees attended the event.
The government estimates that this number will increase further in the coming years. Keeping this in view, preparations are being made to ensure that 25 lakh devotees can visit Puri, have a disciplined darshan, and return safely.
This blueprint is being developed with the next 20 years in mind. Plans are being made for traffic management, crowd control, parking, road preparation, and the construction of new roads, as informed by the Law Minister.
