Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 15 districts in Odisha, predicting heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning today.
The districts including Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangapur, and Koraput are likely to experience heavy rainfall at isolated places, accompanied by winds gusting up to 30-40 kmph.
Additionally, thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur in coastal districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal.
According to the IMD, the rainfall intensity is expected to decrease from July 10-11, with only light showers predicted in some areas. However, from July 12, rainfall is expected to increase, with many places experiencing rain, although heavy rainfall is unlikely. From July 13, the rainfall is predicted to increase further, with heavy rainfall expected in some areas.
