Bhubaneswar: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit Odisha for two days on July 14 and 15. In this context, a state-level preparatory meeting was held today at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
According to an official press release, as per the discussions in the meeting, on the evening of July 14, the President will attend the 5th Convocation Ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. On the forenoon of July 15, she will participate in the 13th Annual Convocation Ceremony of Ravenshaw University.
Subsequently, she will lay the foundation stone for the upgradation work of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School in Cuttack. In the afternoon of July 15, the President will visit Sarala Bhawan at Biju Patnaik Square, Tulsipur, Cuttack, to pay floral tributes to the statue of Adikavi Sarala Das. She will also attend an event organized by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad to mark the 600th birth anniversary of Adikavi Sarala Das as the chief guest and present the “Kalinga Ratna Award-2024.”
The President will arrive at Bhubaneswar airport from New Delhi on the afternoon of July 14 via a special Air Force aircraft. Over the course of two days, she will participate in various programs in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack before returning to New Delhi on the evening of July 15.
Instructions have been issued for making arrangements for her reception and farewell at the airport, temporary stay at Raj Bhavan, security measures, fire safety services at event venues, a carcade plan for road travel, emergency medical and healthcare facilities, necessary repairs and maintenance of roads leading to program venues, cleanliness of roads, uninterrupted power supply at event venues with sufficient backup generators, and alternative arrangements as needed.
The Chief Secretary has sought the cooperation of all concerned to ensure the smooth execution of the President’s visit.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Satyabrata Sahu, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Secretaries of relevant departments, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central), Collectors of Cuttack and Khordha districts, and other senior officials from concerned offices.
