Bhubaneswar: As many as 22 jawans had a close shave when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road in Mandimera village of Gajapati district early Thursday morning.
According to reports, the accident occurred at around 5 am near Mandimera village. Hailing from Koraput, the jawans were returning from Puri after completing the Rath Yatra duty when the mishap occurred. The bus carrying them lost its balance and skidded off the road. Fortunately, all the jawans on board were safely rescued by the locals.
The locals quickly responded to the incident and rescued the jawans from the bus. Although the bus suffered partial damage, all the jawans were safe and sound.
