Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall activity with thunderstorms and gusty winds across Odisha till July 15, attributing the wet spell to an active monsoon system and cyclonic circulations over eastern India.
In its midday weather bulletin issued on Thursday, the IMD stated that the low-pressure area over the region has now become less marked, evolving into a cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand and its neighbourhood. This system, along with two monsoon troughs—one extending from Suratgarh to the northeast Bay of Bengal and another from the **northeast Arabian Sea to the cyclonic circulation—is driving widespread rainfall across the state.
