Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has officially commenced the academic session 2025–26 for first-year students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across government colleges and universities in the state.
According to the academic calendar issued by the department, classes for newly admitted students in 1st Year UG and PG courses began on July 10, 2025.
As of the completion of the third round of the Phase-I admission process, a total of 160,255 students have enrolled in undergraduate courses, while 18,428 students have secured admission in postgraduate programmes.
The Phase-I spot admission process for undergraduate courses will conclude on July 16, 2025. Meanwhile, the final phase of postgraduate admissions is scheduled to be completed by July 25, 2025.
In a bid to safeguard the academic interests and future of students, the Higher Education Department initiated the admission process early, ensuring the timely commencement of classes for the 2025–26 academic session.
This proactive approach is expected to facilitate the smooth conduct of examinations and timely publication of results, ultimately benefiting students across the state.
