Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Saturday suspended both the captain (driver) and the guide (helper) of an ‘Ama Bus’ operating in Bhubaneswar following serious allegations that a staff member assaulted a commuter.
The action was taken after a video surfaced on social media showing a bus employee forcibly pushing a male passenger off the bus at the Pahala bus stop and then assaulting him. A female passenger who intervened reportedly faced aggressive behavior as well.
Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CRUT stated, “This matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. Additional evidence from the bus is currently being collected for further investigation. Both the captain and the guide have been suspended with immediate effect.”
