Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a two-day visit to Odisha, starting today.
Here’s a brief overview of her schedule:
President Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar and attend the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as the chief guest. Tomorrow, July 15, she will attend the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, where students will receive gold medals for their academic achievements.
Additionally, she will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School in Cuttack.
President Murmu will also participate in the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das and present the Kalinga Ratna Award 2024 in Cuttack.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to ensure a smooth visit.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack issued a detailed traffic advisory for July 14 and 15, in view of the visit of the President to Odisha.
To ensure the safety and security of the dignitary and maintain smooth traffic flow in the twin cities, certain traffic restrictions have been imposed under the powers conferred by Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.
