Bhubaneswar: Ravenshaw University has taken strong disciplinary measures against ten third-year UG students accused of ragging some junior students in the East Hostel on the varsity campus. The incident occurred on Saturday night when the senior students allegedly verbally abused and harassed newly admitted first-year students.
Upon learning of the incident, the university’s Chief Warden, hostel wardens, faculty members, and senior administrative officials intervened and brought the situation under control after several rounds of persuasion. Following an internal inquiry, the university identified the accused students and ordered them to vacate the hostel by Sunday evening.
The students were provided temporary accommodation at the university’s guest house for one night, and their parents have been formally informed about the disciplinary action. The university administration has made it clear that any form of indiscipline, including ragging, will not be tolerated on campus and that strict action will be taken against students involved in such activities.
