Four Family Members Missing At Sea In Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Four members of a family have gone missing after venturing into the sea for fishing near Kankadapal village under Baliapal block in Balasore district on Saturday morning.

The missing persons have been identified as Gopal Giri, his sons Madhusudan Giri and Rabindra Giri, and Madhusudan’s brother-in-law Jagannath Pal.

According to reports, the group had set out on a motorboat around 8 am, as part of their daily fishing routine, but did not return by noon as expected. When they failed to return even by 3 pm, a family member lodged a missing person complaint at the Baliapal police station.

Following the report, Baliapal police initiated an investigation. A search operation is currently underway at Talasari Beach, with the Marine Police deploying drones to aid in the search.
