Bhubaneswar: A five-year-old girl was killed and three members of her family were injured after an LPG gas pipe burst in Jajpur district this morning.
The incident occurred at around 6.30 am in Araval village under Arabala panchayat, when Tilottama (35), wife of labourer Abhiram Malik (40), was preparing breakfast. The explosion killed Abhiram’s daughter Mamali (5) on the spot, while Abhiram, Tilottama and grandfather Bakr Malik (50) sustained serious burn injuries.
All the injured were rushed to Dharmasala Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared Mamali dead. Due to critical condition, the other three were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack after primary treatment.
Fire brigade personnel and police reached the spot and have started an investigation.
