Cuttack: The Crime Branch investigation into the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak case has deepened, with more individuals likely to be arrested soon. Officials have confirmed that the President of the Board of Secondary Education Srikant Tarai has already been interrogated four times in connection with the case.
Sources from the Crime Branch headquarters revealed that scrutiny of financial transactions linked to both the arrested individuals and suspected accused is currently underway. Several documents related to the financial dealings of the main accused have been obtained as part of the ongoing probe.
Interestingly, while irregularities in the OTET examination were first flagged in 2022, the investigation has revealed that no formal complaint was lodged by the Board at the time, contradicting its earlier claims.
As the probe into earlier financial irregularities intensifies, Crime Branch officials have not ruled out the possibility of summoning the Board President again if necessary.
The widening investigation hints at a larger network behind the leak, raising serious questions about the integrity of the examination system.
