Bhubaneswar: A visually impaired man of Kumiapali village in Balangir district who had been unsuccessfully trying to obtain disability certificate for a long time, finally received it after the prompt action and intervention of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling.
Bhojraj Chinda, a divyang of Kumiapali village, had run from pillar to post for disability certificate but was unsuccessful until the matter was reported in the media.
Dr. Mahaling directed the Chief District Medical Officer of Balangir to verify Chinda’s eligibility and issue the certificate immediately. Following the Minister’s instructions, the district administration issued the disability certificate to Chinda.
The concerned outsourcing employee responsible for the delay was found negligent and has been dismissed from their job after an investigation. Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling stated that the state government is committed to the welfare of the differently-abled and is working for the overall development of all sections, as per the instructions of the Chief Minister.
