Cuttack Station Redevelopment: 3 Long-Distance Trains To Skip Stoppage For 40 Days

Bhubaneswar: Ongoing redevelopment work at Cuttack Railway Station under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) will lead to the diversion of three long-distance trains for 40 days, from August 11 to September 21.

According to ECoR, the station is undergoing a major transformation, including construction of an air concourse grid, granite flooring and precast coping block installation on platforms, replacement of platform shelters and roofing sheets, and pile foundation and steel column work for the air concourse, along with other safety-related modernization measures.

During this period, the Coimbatore–Silchar Weekly Super-Fast Express (12515), Ernakulam–Patna Bi-Weekly Express (22643), and Bengaluru–Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express (12509) will run via a diverted route—Barang–Naraj Marthapur–Kapilas Road—instead of the usual Barang–Cuttack–Kapilas Road section.

The diverted trains will skip stoppage at Cuttack and instead halt at Naraj Marthapur Railway Station, arriving at 02:35 hrs and departing at 02:37 hrs.

ECoR stated that the redevelopment aims to enhance connectivity and passenger experience, positioning Cuttack as a premier rail hub in the region.
