Man Dies Of Electrocution

Balasore: A 53-year-old man died after being electrocuted at Malipur village under Soro police limits in Balasore district on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Purna Chandra Kar, a resident of Malipur.

According to family members, Kar came in contact with a live electric wire, leading to his untimely death.

“Yesterday, I spoke with my father and he was doing fine. But this morning, I received a call from a family member. When I reached home, I saw my father lying unconscious. He had touched a live wire and died due to electric shock,” said his daughter Puspalata Kar.

Family members immediately rescued Kar and rushed him to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Soro. However, doctors at the facility declared him brought dead.

Following the incident, officials from Soro Police Station arrived at the hospital, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
