Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off a direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the state’s aviation history.
The flight service, operated by Star Air, was launched under the state’s B-MAAN scheme, aiming to enhance regional air connectivity and boost economic opportunities.
The direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda will significantly reduce travel time, promoting industrial growth, tourism, and cultural exchange. Star Air will operate a 76-seater aircraft on the route from Tuesday to Saturday. The service has been supported by the state government’s viability gap funding scheme under the New Destination Policy, aimed at strengthening air links within the state and boosting economic opportunities.
The launch of this route is expected to enhance regional air connectivity, bridge distances within the state, and create inclusive and accessible aviation infrastructure for all sections of society. With this new flight service, the state government aims to foster economic growth, improve connectivity, and promote tourism in the region.
