Dhenkanal: A review meeting focusing on the development activities in Dhenkanal district was held on Tuesday at the Sadbhavana Conference Hall of the District Collector’s office. The session was chaired by Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, who underscored the importance of prioritising local employment and amenities in all industrial establishments within the district.
Minister Patra directed WAREE Energy officials to expedite their project work, which has been lagging. He also called upon all major industries to give precedence to local transport operators to boost regional economic participation.
Addressing healthcare, the Minister announced an allocation of Rs 3 crore for upgrading the medical facility at Baji Chowk, which is set to be transformed into a City Hospital.
Further discussions covered proposals for establishing a medical college, widening the Dakhinakali–Medical Road, constructing a sports complex at Banamali Prasad, and advancing the proposed Ring Road project, all aimed at accelerating the district’s overall development.
The Minister also urged representatives from Kalyani Steels and Aeronex Renewable to accelerate their project implementation timelines, emphasising the critical role of industries in driving rapid development across Dhenkanal.
The meeting saw the presence of District Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Sonkar, Sub-Collector (Sadar) Bibudha Garnaik, senior industrial representatives, and various departmental officials.
The session concluded with Additional District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Behera extending a vote of thanks to all attendees for their participation.
