Balasore: The Panchalingeshwar Temple in Balasore has been closed to devotees indefinitely due to the relentless heavy rainfall in the region. The strong flow of water from the nearby Debgiri hill has made it impossible for devotees to approach the Shivling, prompting temple authorities to take safety measures.
The Puja Mandap, where diyas are lit for worship, is currently submerged under a significant amount of water, making it challenging for priests to perform rituals. The water flow is so intense that it has become a safety concern for devotees.
The district has been experiencing incessant rainfall for last four days, and the water flow has become too strong to allow devotees to approach the Shivling. The Puja Mandap is currently submerged, and the priest is unable to perform Puja rituals. To ensure the safety of devotees, the temple authorities have decided to bar them from darshan, said temple authorities.
The temple will remain closed until sthe ituation improves.
