Woman, Daughter Drown In Village Pond In Koraput

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a woman and her minor daughter drowned in a pond while bathing at Araganda village under Kumaragandhana panchayat in Lamatapur in Koraput district.

The deceased woman, Nabina Majhi, and her daughter, Ambika Majhi, residents of Araganda village, went to the Balia pond for a bath. Ambika slipped into the deep water, and her mother jumped in to rescue her, resulting in both drowning.

Local residents informed the fire service department, which swung into action and recovered the bodies. The local police seized the bodies and sent them for a post-mortem. A case has been registered
