Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar after an 8-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped while returning home after attending tuition on Thursday evening. The child’s family members lodged a complaint at the Chandrasekharpur Police Station, prompting police to launch an investigation.
According to sources, the boy had gone to his tuition as usual but failed to return home on time. His worried family members searched the locality before learning that the child had been abducted. They immediately approached the police, who registered a case and has launched a manhunt.
Two special teams of Chandrasekharpur police have been formed to trace the missing child. Police said no ransom call has been received so far.
The incident has raised serious concerns about children’s safety in the residential area. Locals expressed shock over the kidnapping and urged authorities to step up patrolling during evening hours.
Police officials assured that all possible efforts are being made to rescue the child safely and identify those responsible for the abduction.
