Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday launched the Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub (I-GFTCH) and Bharatnetra in Bhubaneswar, calling it a significant step in the state’s mission to position itself as a global hub for FinTech and digital innovation.
Speaking at the launch, CM Majhi emphasized that Odisha’s strategy for development combines skilling, research, and innovation. “Our approach to skilling is holistic and future-oriented. But skilling alone is not enough—we must invest equally in research and development. That is why Odisha has taken steps such as establishing the Deep Neural Network Laboratory and other Centres of Excellence. Our vision is to make Odisha the ‘Research Capital of the East’,” he said.
The Chief Minister noted that these initiatives align with the national vision of empowering youth through innovation and skilling, as underscored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Strengthening the bridge from Swatantra Bharat to Samriddha Bharat, Odisha is ready to contribute to this grand vision,” Majhi added.
Highlighting the collaborative nature of the initiative, he pointed out that the I-GFTCH is the result of a landmark partnership between the Government of Odisha and the Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN), Singapore. “It reflects our commitment to bring the best of the world to Odisha, and to take Odisha to the world,” Majhi said.
The CM also linked these efforts to Vision 2036, Odisha’s long-term economic roadmap. “We aim to build a $500 billion economy by 2036 and rank among the top five Indian states in per capita income. As we contribute to the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission, Odisha will play a central role in making India a global economic leader,” he said.
