Bhubaneswar: In a heartwarming initiative, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has planned to set up a dedicated baby feeding room within the temple premises, catering to the special needs of breastfeeding mothers and their infants.
This initiative aims to provide a comfortable, hygienic, and private space for nursing mothers.
SJTA informed about this development by tweeting in its X handle.
According to SJTA, the breastfeeding room will be located near the administrative office of the temple administration branch within the temple premises. The room will be designed to ensure privacy, cleanliness, and comfort for both mothers and infants. A dedicated female assistant will be appointed to manage the room.
The temple administration, led by Chief Administrator Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, has meanwhile, instructed departmental officials to implement this initiative on a priority basis, ensuring that the room is equipped to meet the needs of nursing mothers and their infants.
Padhee, along with SP Pinak Mishra, Policy Administrator Jitendra Sahu, Senior Supervisor Baksi Pratihari, Assistant Administrator Shubhashree Suchismita, and other officials, have discussed the matter and identified a suitable location for the establishment of this dedicated breastfeeding room.
This decision comes after long-standing demands for such a facility, particularly considering the large number of female devotees visiting the temple.
