Bhubaneswar: The reconstituted Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will hold its first meeting on September 3 in Puri.
According to reports, the meeting will be held at Niladri Bhakta Niwas under the chairmanship of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb. The meeting will formally welcome the newly appointed members of the committee. Besides, the meeting will focus on streamlining the dhadi darshan to ensure a smooth and orderly entry of devotees into the shrine.
Besides, the agenda will also include discussions on relocating the donation box and conducting an inventory and verification of the Ratna Bhandar’s valuables, according to the Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
Notably, the Odisha government appointed 10 new members to the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee on August 26, as per the Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1954. This appointment comes nearly 11 months after the previous committee’s tenure expired.
