Deogarh: Panic has gripped parts of Deogarh district after a tiger was reportedly spotted in the Pradhanpat Reserve Forest under the Deogarh Forest Division.
The big cat is believed to be roaming in the Kantapali area under the Barkote Forest Range and in the Laimura Beat under the Deogarh Range.
According to reports, Forest officials confirmed the presence of the tiger after fresh pugmarks were discovered in Nagadihi village, located within the Kantapali area.
Acting swiftly, the Forest Department has begun issuing public advisories using loudspeakers, warning villagers to avoid forested areas and to keep their livestock securely tied up.
“A tiger is moving around in the area. People are advised to be careful and keep their animals tied up,” the department announced.
Reports indicate that the tiger may be moving between the Deogarh and Sundargarh districts, especially in and around the Banai forest areas.
Forest personnel have stepped up surveillance and are maintaining strict vigilance to monitor the tiger’s movement and ensure public safety.
