Bhubaneswar: Surama Padhy, the Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly, has called for an all-party meeting to be held on September 16. The meeting aims to discuss ways to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming the Assembly Session, which is scheduled to begin from September 18.
According to reports, the upcoming Odisha Assembly session is scheduled to be a brief one, with only seven working days. The session is set to begin on September 18 and will conclude on September 25. Ahead of the session, Assembly Speaker Padhy has called for an all-party meeting on September 16. During the meeting, the Speaker will hold discussions with leaders of all parties to promote a constructive and respectful dialogue among the members during the session.
On the other hand, the Chief Secretary has issued instructions to departmental secretaries to provide accurate and timely responses to questions raised in the Assembly. Departmental secretaries have been asked to give personal attention to this matter, ensuring that all answers are thorough and well-prepared.
In addition to their Assembly-related responsibilities, departmental secretaries have also been directed to limit their travel. They have been instructed to avoid foreign trips unless absolutely necessary and to minimize trips outside the state. If possible, planned trips should be rescheduled to ensure that departmental secretaries are available to address Assembly-related matters and provide necessary support during the session.
