Toll Gate Employee Killed After Being Hit By Cattle-Laden Scorpio In Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: A toll gate employee died after being run over by a four-wheeler near Gobindpur toll gate on National Highway 49 under Rengali police limits in Jharsuguda district on Thursday.

The deceased toll gate employee has been identified as Anil Kumar Patel, a resident of Kadambini village.

According to reports, tension ran high at the locality after the speeding Scorpio carrying cattle run over him in the wee hours of Thursday. Upon being informed, police rushed to the accident site and seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, police seized the vehicle responsible for accident and rescued six cattle from being smuggled. However, the accused involved in the cattle smuggling managed to flee.

Police launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused.
