Bhubaneswar: Incessant rainfall in Balangir district has caused water to enter the revered Maa Samaleswari temple, disrupting the daily rituals.
According to reports, the sanctum sanctorum of the revered Maa Samaleswari temple has also been inundated with rainwater. As a result, priests found it difficult to perform the daily rituals of Maa Samaleswari due to the waterlogging.
Devotees have expressed sadness over the incident, and efforts are being made to drain out the water.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha tomorrow, indicating potential heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Apart from Koraput and Malkangiri, 28 other districts have been issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph tomorrow. These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, and Rayagada, according to the IMD.
