Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted 50,000 foreign-origin cigarette sticks valued at Rs 8 lakh from a 63-year-old passenger at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar.
The passenger, identified as Sarabjit Singh, was arriving from Dubai.
According to reports, Singh was planning to board a train to Delhi to supply the seized 58 kilograms of cigarettes in the national capital. Following his arrest, the DRI handed him over to the Customs Department for further inquiry and investigation.
Further investigation is underway.
