Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a tourist was bitten by a juvenile crocodile while taking bath in sea on Chandrabhaga beach, on Saturday.

According to reports, the tourist sustained minor injuries after being bitten by the crocodile. Hearing the tourist’s scream, local horse rider Nrusinghanath Mallick quickly rushed to the scene, rescued the tourist, and caught the crocodile, which was later handed over to the Konark forest department.

Forest department officials believed that the juvenile crocodile might have ventured into the sea from a nearby river due to flooding.

Meanwhile, the department has warned tourists to exercise caution while bathing in the area, as similar incidents could happen in the future.
