Puri: In a remarkable incident that has left the town stunned, an 86-year-old woman, P. Lakshmi from Polasara in Ganjam district, was brought back to life just moments before her funeral pyre was to be lit at Puri’s Swargadwar cremation ground on Monday.
According to reports, the family had believed Lakshmi to be dead as she was not breathing. They arranged for an ambulance and transported her to the cremation ground to conduct the last rites.
Upon arrival, the Swargadwar authorities requested a death certificate from Lakshmi’s son-in-law. Unable to produce the document immediately, he went to arrange it.
During this time, family members noticed that Lakshmi had started breathing again. They rushed her to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where doctors confirmed she was alive and began emergency treatment. Lakshmi’s condition is currently stable and being closely monitored by medical staff.
This extraordinary event has created a wave of shock and wonder among locals.
