Heavy Rain And Thunderstorms Likely To Lash Several Odisha Districts Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for Odisha, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph in several districts tomorrow.

A yellow alert has been issued for six districts in the western and northern parts of the state, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. These districts are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms tomorrow.

Additionally, a yellow alert has also been issued for 22 districts in the coastal and southern parts of the state. These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in these areas.

“Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati”, read the weather prediction for September 18.

According to IMD prediction for September 19, thunderstorms with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput. The regional weather office has issued yellow warning to these districts.

For September 21, the regional weather office has predicted thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Bargarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangapur and Rayagada.
