Bhubaneswar: A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws’ residence in Belapur village under Soro police station limits of Balasore district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhagyabati Behera, wife of Army officer Umakant Behera. The couple had been married for five years.
According to reports, Bhagyabati was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom. Family members rushed her to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Soro, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Following the incident, Bhagyabati’s parents alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws and lodged a formal complaint with the police.
Acting on the complaint, police reached the hospital, sent the body for post-mortem examination, and initiated an investigation.
