Bhubaneswar: The conductor of an Ama Bus allegedly assaulted a passenger during a heated argument over ticket prices, leaving the man injured on the roadside. A video of the attack went viral on social media.
The incident occurred on Route No. 28 at Unit 8 bus stop. According to reports, the argument between the conductor and passenger escalated into a physical altercation. The CRUT (Capital Region Urban Transport), which operates the Ama Bus services, took swift action, dismissing the conductor from service.
The Revenue Collection Agency (RCA) has filed a preliminary report with the local police station, and a special team from CRUT is investigating the matter. To prevent such incidents in the future, CRUT is providing regular behaviour and tolerance training to all Ama Bus guides and captains, with over 1,500 employees already trained.
