Sundargarh: In a shocking incident, a woman was stripped naked, paraded through the streets, and mercilessly beaten by her husband in Timna village under Bargaon police station limits in Sundargarh district.
According to reports, the woman was allegedly involved in an extra-marital relationship with an unmarried youth from a nearby village. The youth had been staying at her house for the past four days, following which villagers caught the duo and convened a kangaroo court. Both reportedly confessed to the relationship during the hearing.
The villagers then informed the woman’s husband, who works in Bengaluru. On learning about the incident, he returned home on Wednesday. Enraged, he stripped naked his wife and assaulted her publicly while forcing her to walk around the village. A video of the assault has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread outrage.
However, Bargaon police station IIC Balunkeswar Nayak said that no formal complaint has been lodged so far in connection with the incident.
