Bhubaneswar: Days after tiger pugmarks were spotted in the Reamal Forest Range of Deogarh district, fresh signs of tiger presence have now been found in the Patakumunda forest under the Chhendipada Forest Range in Angul district, triggering panic among locals.
According to reports, villagers had been speculating about the presence of a tiger in the area over the past few days. The discovery of pugmarks has intensified fears among the rural population.
Acting swiftly, Forest Department officials reached the spot, collected the pugmark imprints, and have sent them for expert analysis to confirm whether they indeed belong to a tiger.
In the wake of the incident, forest personnel have launched awareness campaigns in nearby villages and remain on high alert. Monitoring of the tiger’s possible movement is underway and villagers have been urged to remain cautious and report any sightings immediately.
Meanwhile, panic continues in Deogarh’s Reamal Forest Range after pugmarks were discovered near Jharmunda village, close to ‘Babaji Math’, on September 29.
Forest officials are closely monitoring both regions as part of precautionary and conservation measures.
