Nuapada: Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra on Friday visited Nuapada district for the second time to review ongoing developmental projects and assured that the state government would address the region’s key demands with seriousness.
During a review meeting with district-level officials, the Minister announced that 24/7 drinking water supply arrangements have been made for the three Notified Area Councils (NACs) in the district.
At a separate review meeting of the three NACs held at Khariar Road, Mahapatra informed that for the long-pending demand of a new office building for Khariar Road NAC, ₹3.5 crore has already been sanctioned. He further committed that an additional ₹1 crore would be provided.
He also announced that a goshala (cow shelter) will be constructed at Khariar Road. “The government is committed to fulfilling the needs of the people, and all demands will be taken up with utmost seriousness,” the Minister assured.
The meeting was attended by Kalahandi MP Malvika Devi, Khariar Road NAC Chairperson Sonia Jain, Vice-Chairperson Nishant Daga, former MP Basant Kumar Panda, and Executive Officer Kamala Rath.
